Benny Cunningham (thigh) to return to Rams in Week 6
Los Angeles Rams running back Benny Cunningham (thigh) will return to the lineup Week 6 against the Detroit Lions, expects head coach Jeff Fisher.
With Cunningham out each of the past two games, starter Todd Gurley has seen a spike in pass-game usage. He averaged five targets per game without Cunningham, but was seeing just two with him in the lineup. The Detroit Lions are also the only team yet to allow a rushing touchdown to an opposing running back, meaning Gurley loses floor and upside this week.
Gurley holds a -0.17 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt rate, the 50th-highest mark among the 57 running backs with at least 20 attempts through Week 5.
