Saints acknowledge Tim Hightower will be more involved
New Orleans Saints running back Tim Hightower has "definitely" earned more work going forward, head coach Sean Payton confirmed Monday.
Hightower replaced Mark Ingram after an early fumble on Sunday, and he went on to average 3.92 yard per carry on 26 totes. Expect a committee in the backfield when the Saints square off with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. It's an appealing matchup, but a terrible situation for both Hightower and Ingram.
Hightower paced the Saints backfield with -0.70 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) against Seattle, per numberFire Live. Ingram finished with an atrocious -8.91 NEP in Week 8.
