Usually a solid pitcher, James Shields has been a mess this season. He is sporting career-worst numbers in a huge array of stats, including ERA (5.43), SIERA (5.18), strikeout rate (15.3%), walk rate (9.8%), home runs per nine (1.67) and xFIP (5.17). Any way you cut it, this has been a brutal year for him.

Derek Dietrich, on the other hand, has been great this season against right-handed pitching, slashing .295/.388/.426 with a .357 wOBA.

While you may still be getting used to the idea that Shields makes for a matchup to exploit in daily fantasy, Dietrich is in a great spot with a very low price tag.
