FanDuel Price: $4,400
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
David Ortiz, Anthony Rizzo, and Joey Votto are all in better on-paper spots tonight, Paul Goldschmidt, who is more expensive than all of them, will likely fly under the radar.
Why You Should Use Him:
Goldschmidt gets a matchup against New York Mets lefty Jonathon Niese, who has a 5.20 ERA on the year and gave up 6 runs in one inning in his most recent start. Niese has struggled more with right-handed batters in his career, posting a 3.47 xFIP against lefties and 3.91 xFIP against righties.
Goldschmidt has hit much better against lefties in his career and should have no problem against Niese tonight. With the Arizona Diamondbacks projected for 5.1 runs against Niese, Goldschmidt should have a good chance to pile up the counting stats. He's a viable play in all formats if you can fit his price tag in.
