Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Alcides Escobar and the rest of the Kansas City Royals' lineup will likely go overlooked due to a struggling offense that ranks 25th in wOBA (.306) and 27th in runs scored.
Why You Should Use Him:
There's a variety of reasons why Escobar is a great play. First and foremost, the Royals face off against Tyler Duffey, who has been pretty mediocre so far in 2016 with a 4.01 SIERA. Duffey's numbers get even worse against right-handed hitters, who are torching him for a .401 wOBA.
Escobar is also sporting his second-highest one-month OPS of the year at .679 in August, and he is 5-for-7 for his career against Duffey. Both of those involve small samples, but they are positive signs nonetheless.
