Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Travis Jankowski and the San Diego Padres face lefty Jon Lester of the Chicago Cubs at home Monday evening and are large underdogs (-220). Lester has also held left-handed bats in 2016 to a .260 wOBA. Obviously, there is a case to be made to avoid the Padres.
Why You Should Use Him:
The struggles against stolen bases for Jon Lester and the Cubs are well-documented. In 2016, they have allowed the second-most stolen bases in the Majors with 104 and have only caught 18% of potential base stealers. In addition, Jankowski has already stolen 26 bases in 260 at-bats.
If the stolen bases weren't enough, Jankowski walks nearly 14% of the time, and while Lester has cut down on walks in recent years, he is still giving out nearly 2.5 free passes per nine innings.
The lefty-lefty combo should make Jankowski lightly owned with potential for huge upside in this slate.
