On Tuesday, it was Jake Arrieta who our projections tabbed as the clear top-ranked pitcher. Tonight, that distinction goes to Jose Fernandez.

With a projected point total of 41.6 FanDuel points, Fernandez is clearly our top-ranked arm for his home matchup with the Kansas City Royals, whose 2.77 implied total is the lowest of the slate by nearly a full run.

Kansas City ranks 27th in wOBA (.307), 26th in wRC+ (88) and 27th in long balls (108). Their wOBA drop to .290 away from home, which is the worst mark in baseball.

The Royals' 20.0% strikeout rate isn't an ideal clip to target, but this is Jose Fernandez we're talking about. The Miami Marlins' ace owns an insane 35.6% strikeout rate, and he's particularly lethal at home, limiting hitters to a .246 wOBA while his strikeout rate climbs to 36.6%.

With Fernandez, the upside is always there, and he's going to be difficult to pass on in cash games.
