Billy Hamilton is no stud from the plate, but as numberFire's own seems to be making good progress offensively.
While he's not hitting for any sort of power, since the All Star break he has managed a .359 on-base percentage, getting on base often enough to record 32 steals -- 13 more than anyone else in the Majors in that span.
Hamilton also does his best work against right-handed pitching, and he has a matchup with the right-handed Alex Reyes tonight. Reyes has looked good through 14 Major League innings, but in 14 Triple-A starts (65 1/3 innings) he posted an ugly 4.96 ERA this year.
Hamilton doesn't have big upside in terms of his power, but he should have little trouble getting on base against Reyes, and his unparalleled ability to steal bases does give him nice upside.
