I'm not quite ready to give up on Corey Dickerson despite his struggles.
Owner of a career .370 wOBA and .259 ISO against right-handed pitchers (and .339 wOBA and .231 ISO if we look only at road games, as a rough way to remove the impact playing in Coors Field had on his numbers earlier in his career), he has struggled mightily, even against right-handed pitching this year. But those struggles come with a .248 BABIP (compared to his career average of .315 against righties) despite a solid 30.2% hard-hit rate.
He has a chance to get going tonight in a great matchup versus Yovani Gallardo. The Baltimore Orioles' righty is the owner of a an ugly 5.57 SIERA on the year after posting a 4.59 SIERA in 2015. Gallardo has just a 14.9% strikeout rate and 11.9% walk rate this season, and with a brutal 5.94 xFIP against left-handed hitters, he gives Dickerson some serious upside.
