Jose Fernandez is the main slate's top-ranked pitcher for his road matchup with the Atlanta Braves.
It feels wrong to say it, but Atlanta has been one of baseball's better offenses in the second half of the season. Over the last 30 days, the Braves rank fifth with a .340 wOBA, and their strikeout rate is just 19.2%.
The Braves' resurgence from the depths of despair makes this matchup less appealing than it would have been in May. However, Atlanta's 3.26 implied total is still the lowest of the day, and with Fernandez, there is always plenty of enticing upside.
We clearly prefer the Miami Marlins' ace at home, but he's pretty darn good on the road, too. Away from Marlins Park, the young flamethrower is limiting hitters to a .317 wOBA with a 31.8% strikeout rate. The fact Fernandez's home splits are decidedly better than those outstanding numbers is pretty comical.
