While he hasn't been having a great year, Jacoby Ellsbury has managed some decent splits against right-handed pitching, slashing .279/.351/.414 with a .333 wOBA. He has been playing especially well recently with a huge .382 wOBA through 53 plate appearances in September, and tonight's matchup with Clay Buchholz gives him a good chance to continue with that success.
Buchholz is having a really rough season with a 5.31 ERA and a career-worst 5.11 SIERA. His 15.7% strikeout rate is also a career-worst, and his 9.5% walk rate is his worst since 2008.
His 5.84 xFIP and .362 wOBA against left-handed bats this year is especially bad, and he is going to have a tough time against Ellsbury tonight.
