Cincinnati Reds righty Robert Stephenson doesn't have much of a big-league sample, but his first 25 1/3 innings haven't gone well. He's struggled to the tune of a 4.92 SIERA while giving up a monster 41.3% hard-hit rate.
In 136 2/3 innings this year at Triple-A, Stephenson put up a 20.3% strikeout rate with an ugly 12.0% walk rate. A road matchup with the high-powered Chicago Cubs isn't what the doctored ordered.
All Cubs are in play today, but Stephenson's splits actually make right-handed hitters a little more attractive, which leads us to Kris Bryant. Stephenson is surrendering a .387 wOBA and 48.6% hard-hit rate to righties. Bryant owns a .388 wOBA against right-handed pitchers with a 41.4% hard-hit rate and 43.7% fly-ball rate.
