While the switch-hitting Ben Zobrist has done his best work against left-handed pitching over his career, he has fared well against righties, as well, this season, slashing .260/.380/.423 with a .351 wOBA despite only owning a .271 BABIP on a 32.8% hard-hit rate.
He draws a matchup tonight against rookie right-hander Jameson Taillon, who has had a promising start to his major league career. With that said, Taillon is also allowing a .316 wOBA on a 33.1% hard-hit rate to left-handed hitters.
The Chicago Cubs rank in the top-10 in wRC+ and wOBA against right-handed pitchers this season, and hitting in the heart of that lineup makes Zobrist a really strong value.
