Fantasy Baseball: 5 Low-Cost Hitters Who Are Plate-Appearance Assets in Rotisserie Formats
These five players won't get you many high fives at the draft table, but their projected plate-appearance volume should make them strong assets in rotisserie formats.

Kole Calhoun, Los Angeles Angels

You want to talk unsplashy? Kole Calhoun is about as splashy as an empty swimming pool.

Indeed, the Los Angeles Angels' outfielder is one of the tried and true “what you see is what you get” assets in fantasy, and as such he’s being overlooked heading into drafts.

Sure, the Angels’ lineup (despite its star centerpiece) isn’t exactly poised to conquer galaxies, but Calhoun should still see his fair share of plate appearances as their everyday two hitter, giving him a good shot to score 90 or more runs for the third time in four seasons.

And as with Belt, his ability to hit in the .260 range is a quietly useful asset in the current average environment. Calhoun is back-to-back with Fowler in the outfield ADP, per FantasyPros, and like Fowler, he makes for a solid play whose draft-day cost and performance variance are both nice and low.
