Yahoo ADP: 167.7 | ESPN ADP: 125.1
It's largely the same story for Marcell Ozuna that we saw for Ramirez. ESPN's buying into the big improvements he made last year while Yahoo is waiting for further proof.
The good thing for those investing on ESPN is that every peripheral stat moved in the right direction for Ozuna in 2016. Here's a comparison of what he did then compared to 2015.
Season | Walk Rate | Strikeout Rate | Hard-Hit Rate | Fly-Ball Rate |
---|---|---|---|---|
2015 | 6.1% | 22.3% | 34.5% | 30.8% |
2016 | 7.1% | 18.9% | 37.4% | 36.5% |
That fly-ball rate is already tasty, but it was even better before a June wrist injury. At the time of the injury, Ozuna's fly-ball rate was 39.1%, and it fell to 34.2% over the rest of the year. Ozuna's results fell with it. What would a fully healthy 2016 have looked like?
Ozuna has made huge strides with his strikeout rate, and his batted-ball stats keep getting better as he enters his age-26 season. That should make it obvious that we should buy him on Yahoo, but he also doesn't seem unreasonable where he's going on ESPN.
