9. Pedro Martinez, Boston Red Sox (2000)

Fast-forward three years from the last time we saw him on this list, Martinez, now with the Red Sox, was the same pitcher he was in Montreal. This time, though, he won 18 games in 29 starts and struck out 11.78 batters per nine innings.

With a WAR of 9.4, Martinez rightfully won the AL Cy Young and pitched in the All-Star game that season.
