Let's get the obvious one out of the way first. Clayton Kershaw is often close to a lock in cash games any time he takes the mound, and his absurd upside also makes him a prime GPP target.
Even in an injury-plagued 2016 season, he posted a huge 31.6% strikeout rate (his third straight year above 31%) with an absurdly low 2.0% walk rate, finishing with a 1.69 ERA and 2.41 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA).
This is also an especially good spot for Kershaw, taking on a San Diego Padres team that struck out against southpaws at the league's second-highest rate last year.
