I mentioned numberFire's projections have Sale picking up the second-most strikeouts on the slate -- Rich Hill is the man who sits in front of him, while also being projected as the top fantasy scorer among the day's pitchers.

Hill is coming off a strong 2016 season that saw him post a 3.29 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) with a solid 29.4% strikeout rate. He also posted a 34.0% strikeout rate in 2015 and a 31.0% rate in 2014 -- giving him huge upside against a San Diego Padres team that struck out at the league's second-highest rate last season.

The Padres also have the lowest implied total on the slate, while the Dodgers' -240 moneyline is the best mark on the slate by a pretty big margin, making Hill the day's top pitching option.
