FanDuel Price: $2,700
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Third base has some big-time options on today's slate, including Kris Bryant, who could be coming out of his early-season slump by socking his first two homers of the season on Saturday.
In addition to Bryant, the mid-tier has some great options, too. Adonis Garcia gets to take cuts against Jered Weaver, who's got a cool 50.0% fly-ball rate and 41.7% hard-hit rate against righties so far in 2017. Travis Shaw also looks to continue his white-hot start (10.93 FanDuel points per game) on the year.
All of this should to an overlooked David Freese, who faces the St. Louis Cardinals, a team he spent the first five years of his MLB career with.
Why You Should Use Him:
Freese -- who's currently averaging 10.39 FanDuel points per game -- and the Pittsburgh Pirates have a juicy matchup against Lance Lynn, who is making his third start since missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery.
It's early in the year, but Lynn has had a tough time through his first 10.1 innings of work in 2017 -- he's allowed a 38.2% fly-ball rate and 29.4% hard-hit rate thus far, which has led to him surrendering 2.61 home runs per nine innings. He's also only generating swings and misses 7.0% of the time, which would be the worst in his career if it stood up over the course of an entire season.
With a hitter off to a strong start (198 wRC+ and .250 ISO) against a pitcher still working his way back from injury, Freese has an opportunity to do some damage here.
