There aren't a ton of strong pitching options at the top-end of today's pricing spectrum, and while Chris Archer may not be heavily favored (the Tampa Bay Rays are only -116 favorites against the Baltimore Orioles), Archer does check a lot of other boxes.
This game only has a 7.5 over/under, so despite not being big underdogs, the Orioles own the lowest implied total on the slate at 3.66. Archer's far from a lock to score you a win, but he's also not likely to get shelled here, either.
Where his real fantasy appeal kicks in, though, is with his strikeout potential. The Orioles have struck out at a top-10 rate (22.9%) to start the 2017 season, and that plays into Archer's strength. He has strikeout rates of 29.0% and 27.4% over the last two seasons, and while this years' 25.5% is down a bit, it's still a solid mark. He also accompanies it with a 12.6% swinging-strike rate, which is the second-highest of his career and a good indication that we could see his strikeout rate trend up moving forward.
He projects as the top-scoring fantasy pitcher on the slate and our models project him for more than half a strikeout more than any other pitcher in action on Monday.
