5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/24/17
Robinson Chirinos has been crushing the ball recently, and he draws a solid matchup against Phil Hughes. Who else should you target for big-time fantasy value on Monday?

Byron Buxton, OF, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $2,000

It's usually advisable to avoid targeting guys hitting right at the back end of the order, but today's slate involves some really appealing high-priced bats in a Coors Field game. So, it may be worth your while to stretch for a minimum-salary play like Byron Buxton.

Without sugar-coating it, Buxton has been terrible. The Minnesota Twins are sporting a decent 4.47 implied total in a matchup against Martin Perez, who posted a brutal 5.11 SIERA in 2016 and has opened 2017 with a 4.99 mark. He has a career 4.56 xFIP against right-handed hitters and is allowing a .338 wOBA to them.

Buxton does own a decent batted-ball profile against left-handed pitching over his young MLB career, with a 33.3% hard-hit rate, a 15.1% soft-hit rate and a 43.7% fly-ball rate. We project him as the top point-per-dollar value on today's slate.
