Re-Drafting the 2011 MLB Draft Using Advanced Analytics
Does Gerrit Cole maintain his spot atop this ultra-talented draft class?

3 Risers

As for these three players, they leapfrog quite a few on their way to the top end of the re-draft.

Player Position WAR Actual Pick Re-Draft Pick Difference
Michael Fulmer RHP 3.3 44 11 33
Trevor Story SS 2.7 45 12 33
Jackie Bradley, Jr. OF 8.0 40 8 32

The first of three players selected between picks 40 and 45, righty Michael Fulmer has gone 13-8 in 30 career starts with the Detroit Tigers. He also won Rookie of the Year honors in 2016 after posting an 11-7 record with a 3.06 ERA in 159 total innings.

Like Fulmer, it also took a while for the hard-hitting Trevor Story to reach the bigs. Since doing so, though, the shortstop has turned in 31 dingers and 82 RBI in 116 career games.

For the aforementioned Bradley, Jr. -- who has seen his value go from a compensatory pick to a top-10 player -- he has been quite the asset for the Boston Red Sox. He played his way to the All-Star Game in 2016 while hitting a career-best 26 home runs.
