On the other side of that Twins-Rangers game, we don't get quite as good a matchup for the Twins' bats (taking on Cole Hamels). But they still stand to benefit from playing in a hitter-friendly park while Hamels has also struggled with right-handed hitters to start the season.
Kennys Vargas has only had 11 plate appearances this season. While that's obviously too small of a sample to draw any conclusions (even with some great batted-ball numbers), he also looked great through 177 plate appearances in 2016, posting a 41.7% hard-hit rate and 47.9% fly-ball rate.
The switch-hitting Vargas has also done his best work against southpaws over his career, racking up a .356 wOBA on a 35.3% hard-hit rate and making the Hamels matchup even less intimidating.
