In what is something of a trend with today's value plays, Jonathan Lucroy is another guy who has been hitting the ball better than his recent production may lead you to believe.
Lucroy is slashing an awful .167/.219/.233 over the last 15 days, and while his contact numbers aren't exactly elite, he does rank in the middle of the pack in average exit velocity and in the top 100 in average batted-ball distance in that time (among the more than 300 hitters with 10-plus batted balls).
He posted a strong .371 wOBA and .195 ISO against right-handed pitching in 2016, and he draws a plus matchup tonight against Michael Fiers, who has opened the season with a 4.45 SIERA after finishing with a 4.26 and allowing a career-high 35.3% hard-hit rate in 2016.
