Giancarlo Stanton's numbers from the dish are up slightly from where they finished last year, and he's sporting a .356 wOBA and .253 ISO through 104 plate appearances. His hard-hit rate is down slightly (to a still-excellent 39.7%), though he has cut his soft-hit rate by over 4.0% to 12.7%.
He brings that into one of the day's better matchups, taking on Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Alex Cobb.
In 10 games since returning from Tommy John surgery (5 games in 2016, 5 to start this season), Cobb has really struggled. He posted a 4.50 SIERA last season and currently has a 4.02 SIERA this year, along with allowing a huge 45.5% hard-hit rate and only a 9.1% soft-hit rate.
The Miami Marlins have a decent 4.21 implied total here, and Stanton offers a ton of upside when he's against a pitcher giving up the batted-ball numbers that Cobb has.
