Ranking Derek Jeter's 5 Best MLB Seasons
The Captain was brilliant year in and year out, but which five of his seasons stood out the most?

1. 1999

WAR: 7.4

Based on the postseason awards, you might not expect this to be Jeter's best season. After all, he finished just sixth in MVP voting and failed to win a Silver Slugger or Gold Glove.

Nonetheless, in his fourth full year, Jeter recorded a career-high 219 hits with 24 home runs and a personal-best 102 RBI in 158 games. He hit .349 for the year and slugged .552, meanwhile adding 55.9 offensive wins above replacement, annihilating his previous best of 29.0.

On defense, Jeter wasn't as good as he proved to be in other campaigns. In 635 chances, he totaled 14 errors and -2.4 defensive wins above replacement.

At age 25, Jeter won his second MLB title and ranked fifth in the Majors in WAR.
