The Atlanta Braves were already an interesting fantasy matchup, ranking 20th in wRC+ with a middle-of-the-pack strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, but with Freddie Freeman sidelined, the matchup becomes a lot better.

Gerrit Cole is coming off a down year, but this season's numbers look a lot more like what he posted early in his major league career than what he did in his injury-plagued 2016 campaign. His velocity is up almost across the board, and that has facilitated a significant jump in swinging-strike rate (to 9.9%) and strikeout rate (22.2%).

The Pirates aren't huge favorites in this one (-122 money line), but that is largely because of their poor offensive outlook -- Cole is in a great spot tonight.
