Chad Pinder hasn't been especially productive this season, but his batted-ball profile is really promising. He has a 36.5% hard-hit rate, 12.2% soft-hit rate and 50.0% fly-ball rate through 126 plate appearances. If we just look at his splits against southpaws, that hard-hit rate jumps to 39.1% with the fly-ball rate up to 52.2%.
Those batted-ball numbers give him some really nice upside tonight against New York Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery, who has posted a 4.28 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) as well as a 4.47 xFIP against right-handed hitters through 11 games in his first major league season.
