Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Jose Ramirez has been an absolute fantasy stud, and as part of an offense with an implied team total of 5.38 runs tonight, he's likely to be a chalky play. Ramirez has posted a .390 wOBA this year, including a .464 mark in the month of June.
Combine that with the New York Mets getting absolutely blasted in the first two games of the series by a combined score of 20-2 to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Wilmer Flores is not likely to see a huge ownership percentage.
Why You Should Use Him:
Thursday may be just what the doctor ordered for the Mets to salvage a split, and if so, Flores is likely to be a big part of it.
Flores and his buddies will face Hyun-jin Ryu, who's been up and down, putting up a respectable 4.13 SIERA this season, but allowing a lot of hard contact (34.4%).
Ryu has been victimized by right-handed bats. While they've only posted a .319 wOBA, the batted-ball profile shows a poor hard-hit rate (34.1%) and fly-ball rate (36.1%).
After a rough start to the year, Flores has picked it up, flashing a monthly-best .214 ISO in June. He's in line with a strong matchup at an affordable price point.
