FanDuel Price: $7,800
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Five pitchers top the $9,000 mark on a full 15-game slate Friday evening, and there are a few that stand out from the rest. Chris Archer and his strikeout goodness (30.1% strikeout rate), along with Michael Fulmer facing the San Diego Padres in San Diego are sure to be two popular destinations for DFS players.
One medium-priced option that probably is a bit sneakier is Seth Lugo of the New York Mets.
Why You Should Use Him:
Lugo's only fired a total of 33 1/3 innings pitched this season across three levels, so it's a tough sample size to draw from, but last season's 64 innings as a major leaguer are what got people excited about him.
He won 5 games over 8 starts in 2016, and while his strikeout rate was just 17.3%, he did rock a 9.2% swinging-strike rate. In limited time this season, his swinging-strike rate is a little lower (8.5%), but his strikeout rate has improved a bit (19.0%) and he's doing a great job at limiting hard contact (23.8%).
He'll also get the added benefit of facing a San Francisco Giants offense that ranks a league-worst 30th in team wOBA against right-handed pitching (.290) at one of the league's best stadiums for pitchers in AT&T Park.
