Has Chris Sale ($11,700 on FanDuel) reached must-start status in cash games? Among qualified starters, he's the league leader in SIERA (2.61) and a hair behind Max Scherzer for the lead in strikeout rate (35.1%). He's shown remarkable consistency with still just one start below 40 FanDuel points all season. The Minnesota Twins have just a 3.54 implied team total.
But we also have Jeff Samardzija ($8,300), who looks like a steal at his price. He may have an unsightly 4.74 ERA, but he has the fifth-best SIERA (3.16) among qualified starters, nearly on par with Clayton Kershaw. He gets the Colorado Rockies, whose active roster has the worst wRC+ against righties in the league (82), at home.
Sale is the top overall pitching option, but Samardzija might be tough to resist if he lets you squeeze a few more high-priced bats into your lineup.
Don't forget about Carlos Carrasco ($9,900) in tournaments as well. He's been inconsistent but dropped 58 FanDuel points his last time out, demonstrating his immense upside.
We have just six games on tonight's FanDuel main slate but still need to narrow down our list of choices. Here are four guys to consider avoiding in your lineups.
