FanDuel Price: $8,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
There's a lot of medium-priced options on the mound tonight, but one expensive stud that's sure to see a ton of ownership on the 13-game slate is Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals. With a 27.5% strikeout rate under his belt, he'll be facing a Chicago Cubs team that's struck out 22.0% of the time in 2017.
One of those mid-range options that could be in line for a big night is Trevor Bauer of the Cleveland Indians, but with only a 6-6 record and 5.53 ERA, he can be easy to push to the side.
Why You Should Use Him:
Traditional metrics don't do a great job of highlighting how strong of a year Bauer has produced so far -- he's posted a 3.84 SIERA, which ranks 17th among 77 qualified starting pitchers. His 26.6% strikeout rate also isn't too shabby, which ranks 16th among the same group.
Bauer gets the added benefit of facing a Texas Rangers squad that swings and misses a ton. Over the last two nights against Indians pitching, the Rangers have struck out 33 times, and their 24.8% strikeout rate is the fifth-highest mark this year.
