Chris Sale continues to be absolutely nasty this season. He leads all qualifying pitchers with a 2.60 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) while ranking second in both strikeout rate (35.5%) and swinging-strike rate (16.0%) and has posted double-digit strikeouts in 11 of his 17 starts (including in 3 of his last 4).
He brings those ridiculous numbers into a good matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays, who rank below average with a 91 wRC+ and, more importantly for fantasy purposes, have the second-highest strikeout rate in the majors against southpaws.
The Rays' 3.12 implied total is also Thursday's lowest mark.
