Not much has gone right for the New York Mets this season, but they could soon have another young star position player to pair with Michael Conforto, who has emerged as one of the game's top young bats.
Per Baseball Prospectus and Baseball America, Rosario is a top-five prospect. He's been promoted aggressively -- starting 2016 in High-A and opening 2017 in Triple-A -- and he's delivered at every level, posting a .365 wOBA with 7 jacks and 16 steals across 375 plate appearances in Triple-A this season.
The Mets are 9.5 games out of the second wild card spot, so they don't need to rush Rosario to Queens. But there's no one on the current big-league roster blocking him, and there's a good chance he'll be up before the end of the season. If not, look for him to be manning short on Opening Day next spring.
