FanDuel Price: $3,400
Josh Bell has been rolling in hard contact lately, with a 38.6% hard-hit rate since the start of June. That's led to an impressive seven bombs and .366 wOBA over that span.
Of course, as is often the case, that hot play has caused a spike in price, and seeing him cost well above $3,000 is a tough sell. Despite his recent play, on the year, he still has a modest 32.9% hard-hit rate, and hits the ball on the ground more than we like to see (52.3% rate).
His matchup against Mike Leake looks good from a strikeout standpoint -- Leake has struck out lefties just 14.5% of the time since the start of last year. But then you look at the 57.5% ground-ball rate and 28.6% hard-hit rate and it's far less encouraging.
With the Pittsburgh Pirates getting just 4.08 implied runs, there are better spots to find your first baseman.
