FanDuel Price: $8,500
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Tonight's pitching slate is a tough one, and the majority of ownership is more than likely to be centered on a few high-priced studs, namely Clayton Kershaw, Robbie Ray and Brad Peacock. No one else cracks the $9,000 barrier.
Despite being one of the more expensive options today, thanks to starting the season in Triple-A and with only 11 major league starts turns this season, Mike Clevinger of the Cleveland Indians is likely to be ignored.
Why You Should Use Him:
Called up originally due to the Corey Kluber injury, Clevinger has acquitted himself by pitching well so far in 2017. In those 11 starts, he's posted a 3.00 ERA and a healthy strikeout rate of 27.5%.
Clevinger also gets the benefit of facing a mediocre San Francisco Giants offense, which ranks dead last in team wOBA at .292.
While the Giants only strike out 19.3% of the time, their stumbling offense and Clevinger's strong 2017 performance add up to a strong play.
