Zach Granite hasn't mustered much offense through his first six major league games, but that tiny sample isn't especially concerning after he turned in 59 outstanding Triple-A games earlier this year.
He managed an outstanding .404 wOBA through 259 plate appearances, and added 15 stolen bases. That production from the dish was a huge improvement over some of his past minor league seasons, though that base-running ability is nothing new, as he recorded 56 steals in 127 Double-A games in 2016 and 21 steals in 105 games in High-A in 2015.
He doesn't draw an especially tough matchup tonight, as Yankees' righty Luis Cessa has a 4.61 SIERA this season and 4.46 over his 23 career major league games. Even though there's some uncertainty over how well Granite's offense will translate to the big league level, his being priced at minimum-salary does not even come close to reflecting his potential upside.
