Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Luis Severino has enjoyed a fantastic year, but he needs to watch out for Robinson Cano tonight. At home versus right-handed pitching, Cano's posted a robust 114 wRC+ in 2017.
Jonathan Schoop of the Baltimore Orioles could be in for a tough test against Cole Hamels, who's posted a 3.05 ERA over his first nine starts.
Why You Should Use Him:
Hamels looks strong in looking at some traditional metrics, but take a peek at SIERA, and the picture ain't all puppy dogs and lollipops.
In 59.0 innings pitched, Hamels has logged a 5.06 SIERA and a 36.6% hard-hit rate. Righties have been particularly tough on Hamels, as they've recorded a 38.9% hard-hit rate and a 32.6% fly-ball rate.
Schoop has absolutely mashed southpaws this season, especially in Camden Yards. He's put up a 42.4% hard-hit rate and 39.4% fly-ball rate at home versus lefties.
At an affordable price point, Schoop could make for a sneaky play.
