It shouldn't surprise you that a 42-year-old pitcher who posted a 4.81 SIERA in 2016 is struggling, but R.A. Dickey's 5.10 SIERA through 19 games in 2017 is his worst mark since 2008. He also brings that into a matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, leaving Arizona with a solid 5.16 implied total.
Dickey has allowed slightly better contact against righties over his career, which includes giving up a .352 wOBA in 2017. That makes this matchup especially appealing for Paul Goldschmidt.
Goldschmidt is boasting a big .409 wOBA with a career-high .253 isolated slugging (ISO) through 421 plate appearances this season. His bat has been especially hot against right-handed pitchers, tagging them for a .433 wOBA and .287 ISO on a 45.4% hard-hit rate.
