FanDuel Price: $7,400
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Jacob deGrom, James Paxton and Zack Greinke all man the hill tonight, and they are sure to see a lot of ownership. They are three $9,000-plus aces, and all are in pretty nice spots.
With the worst ERA in baseball this season (6.11), Kevin Gausman is likely to be a bit overlooked.
Why You Should Use Him:
Once the target of DFS players to stack against, the tables have turned, and Gausman is one we definitely want to think about rostering.
Over the last 30 days, Gausman ranks 12th in swinging-strike rate at 14.1%. It's no surprise over that same time frame, he's won three games and hasn't recorded a loss. He's turning around his rotten season.
Tonight, he faces a very potent offense in the Tampa Bay Rays, but one that whiffs a ton, too. They have the fourth-highest strikeout rate (25.0) in the bigs, giving Gausman a lot of upside.
Of course, the Rays can mash, and Gausman does give up a lot hard contact still (32.1% hard-hit rate over his last six starts) -- meaning the O's righty is strictly a tourney-only option.
