4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 8/1/17
At a surprisingly cheap price point, Melky Cabrera is in a great spot tonight. Who else makes for a strong sleeper play?

Ben Gamel, OF, Seattle Mariners

FanDuel Price: $2,800

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Has there been a better hitter than Andrew McCutchen over the last two-ish weeks? Since June 16th, Cutch has posted an absurd .359 batting average, a 197 wRC+, and a 39.3% hard-hit rate. He's likely to be a chalky outfield play tonight.

Even though he carries a 16-game hitting streak, Ben Gamel only batted .255 in July and is likely to be under-owned.

Why You Should Use Him:

Gamel's recent play, despite that low average, has shown he may be turning a corner after the All-Star break. He's recorded a .178 ISO since the Mid-Summer Classic, and has a great matchup against Texas Rangers starter Nick Martinez.

Martinez, who owns a 5.24 SIERA over 71.0 innings pitched, has not been good this year. With several lefties in tonight's lineup, he could be hitting the showers early.

Against the platoon, lefties have knocked Martinez for a .383 wOBA, a 30.3% hard-hit rate, and a 40.8% fly-ball rate.

At a bit of a reduced price, give a long look to Gamel.
