FanDuel Price: $3,200
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Mike Trout hasn't wasted any time getting back to form. Following a thumb injury, Trout has posted double-digit FanDuel points in each of his last five contests. He'll look to continue that tonight against Jerad Eickhoff, who's battled some injuries and has posted a 4.67 SIERA this year.
Despite being on fire the last two months, Odubel Herrera of the struggling Philadelphia Phillies continues to see low ownership rates. The Phillies do boast one of the lower implied team totals of the day at 4.03 runs, certainly influenced by their fourth-worst team wOBA mark of .307.
Why You Should Use Him:
Only if you've lived under a rock could you be unaware how hot Herrera has been. In June and July, he's rocked a .339 batting average, a .402 wOBA, and a 37.0% hard-hit rate.
He'll meet Parker Bridwell of the Los Angeles Angels tonight, who's posted an impressive 2.83 ERA. His SIERA of 4.86, however, indicates he may be getting a little lucky. Bridwell's posted only a 15.7% strikeout rate, and lefties are making a lot of hard contact, mashing him to the tune of a 34.1% hard-hit rate and a 42.2% fly-ball rate.
Herrera continues to be a low-priced option with major upside, and Thursday night looks to be no different.
