FanDuel Price: $7,100
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
There are a tremendous amount of good pitching options available on this short slate, including Sonny Gray making his debut in pinstripes against Corey Kluber, along with Alex Wood taking the pill for the Los Angeles Dodgers. All are sure to be highly-owned options.
One less obvious option is rookie Sean Newcomb of the Atlanta Braves, who's posted a 4.72 SIERA in the big leagues this season.
Why You Should Use Him:
Despite some challenging advanced peripherals for Newcomb, along with a tough matchup against the red-hot Dodgers, he's been a sneaky source of strikeouts. He's notched a 12.1% swinging-strike rate on the year, which has led to a solid 22.5% strikeout rate overall.
One problem spot for Newcomb has been walks -- he's given out free passes 11.7% of the time. If he can keep that in check against a Dodgers team striking out 22.5% of the time against lefties, he could make for a stealthy pitching option.
