FanDuel Price: $3,100
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
If you want to avoid the chalk, stay away from the Coors Field game. Mark Reynolds of the Colorado Rockies is at home with a matchup against struggling Julio Teheran, who's now sporting a crisp 5.25 ERA. Reynolds is only $3,300 and should see a lot of investment.
One under-the-radar option is Lucas Duda of the Tampa Bay Rays, who's currently mired in an 0-for-11 slump.
Why You Should Use Him:
Even though it's been tough sledding lately, Duda has a great opportunity tonight against Nick Tepesch in Toronto, whose first six innings pitched in the big leagues this year haven't gone well (5.05 SIERA and 50.0% hard-hit rate allowed).
His Triple-A innings weren't much better, either. Among the 220 batters he's faced at that level this year, he's whiffed just 19.6% of them, while 75 have reached base during 49 innings of work (good for a 1.53 WHIP). Across all levels in 2017 (55 innings pitched) Tepesch has logged just a 6.22 ERA.
Over 220 Triple-A batters faced, Tepesch whiffed only 19.6% of those hitters, while 75 batters have reached base over those 49.0 minor league innings (1.53 WHIP). In 55.0 total professional innings pitched this season, Tepesch has logged a pedestrian 6.22 ERA.
Meanwhile, Duda loves righties, as he's recorded an .885 OPS, 42.4% hard-hit rate, and 44.8% fly-ball rate with the platoon advantage this year. Monday's matchup north of the border could be just what Duda needs to get back on track.
