FanDuel Price: $7,200
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
A smaller slate like tonight generally leads to a cluster of ownership for the top starting pitcher options, so Yu Darvish and Carlos Carrasco, both priced up over $9,500, are sure to be popular plays.
Jaime Garcia, who has settled in with the New York Yankees (his third team of 2017), is whiffing only 18.5% of hitters this year.
Why You Should Use Him:
Tonight's pick of Garcia probably has less to do with his pitching profile and more to do with his opponent, the New York Mets.
Against left-handed pitching in 2017, the Mets are 19th in team wOBA (.315), and are striking out 24.4% of the time.
Checking them out individually, only Asdrubal Cabrera, Wilmer Flores and Jose Reyes top a wOBA of .330 among hitters that have 75-plus plate appearances against southpaws this year. And Reyes has lost significant playing time recently to rookie Amed Rosario.
The Mets are really scuffling against southpaws and Garcia could be primed for a big night in the more pitcher-friendly confines of Citi Field.
