4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 8/23/17
Eduardo Escobar has a great matchup tonight against James Shields, who has posted an awful 6.73 xFIP against left-handed bats so far in 2017. Who else should you target for big-time value in daily fantasy baseball on Wednesday?

Tommy Joseph, 1B, Philadelphia Phillies

FanDuel Price: $2,100

Tommy Joseph hasn't been wowing anyone with his production in 2017 -- he's only managed a .306 wOBA -- but his 35.5% hard-hit rate is pretty good. Since his salary is just $100 above the site minimum, it's not hard to find upside when he's making solid contact at an above-average rate.

His matchup against Justin Nicolino certainly does the trick, too -- he has a 5.39 SIERA through eight games (putting him on pace for a SIERA worse than 5.10 for the third straight season), and he has a 5.42 xFIP against right-handed bats.

Our models also love Joseph tonight, projecting him as our top point-per-dollar value on the slate.
