We keep waiting for Chris Young to turn things around against lefties, but it just hasn't happened. The 2017 numbers aren't pretty -- a 27.5% hard-hit rate, .266 wOBA, and .084 isolated power (ISO). Left-masher, that is not.

Given his lengthy history of hitting southpaws well (.360 career wOBA), we shouldn't totally write him off, but tonight isn't the right time to test those waters. Young typically hits fifth or higher against lefties, but for the second straight day he's been banished to eighth, damaging his potential upside. The matchup against J.A. Happ also isn't ideal, who has posted a 3.99 xFIP and 23.7% strikeout rate against righties.

With a lot of value opening up on the slate, you don't need to risk using Young tonight.
