4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 9/5/17
Locked in to a matchup with struggling starter Kendall Graveman, Luis Valbuena could be in line for a big night. Who else makes for a solid sleeper play?

Jose Martinez, OF, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $2,200

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

After a four-homer night, J.D. Martinez is sure to see a pile of ownership, and he gets to attack a lefty tonight to boot. For the year, Martinez is sporting a 1.445 OPS against southpaws.

Taking hacks in pitcher-friendly PetCo Park this evening, which ranks only 24th in park factor over the last three seasons, Jose Martinez is sure to be low-owned.

Why You Should Use Him:

Any starting outfielder priced at $2,200 deserves your attention, especially when they are facing struggling starter Travis Wood.

Over 79 innings pitched this year, Wood has recorded a 5.35 SIERA, and righties have obliterated him to the tune of a .368 wOBA, 28.7% hard-hit rate and 42.0% fly-ball rate.

As poorly as Wood has performed against lefties, Martinez has crushed them in the same manner. In 2017, the Cardinals outfielder has ripped lefties for a 211 wRC+, 40.5% hard-hit rate and 43.2% fly-ball rate.
