Admittedly, the 40-year-old Carlos Beltran doesn't look to have a ton left in the tank, and his production has been pretty underwhelming this year. He has still been making some solid contact against right-handed pitching, though, with a 32.7% hard-hit rate and 41.2% fly-ball rate. Beltran has been making especially excellent contact recently, ranking sixth in average exit velocity among the 355 hitters with at least 10 batted balls in the past 15 days.
Los Angeles Angels righty Ricky Nolasco has really struggled with left-handed sticks this year, allowing a 34.5% hard-hit rate with a 5.22 xFIP in the split, making this a solid spot for the switch-hitting Beltran.
Priced all the way down at minimum salary, numberFire's models have Beltran as the main slate's top point-per-dollar value.
