Whit Merrifield was a surprise fantasy baseball asset last season as a multiple position-playing speed stud for the Kansas City Royals, totaling an AL-best 34 stolen bases in 145 games played. He gives you a little batting average help, too (.288 last season) and he slugged 19 homers to go along with that speed.
Merrifield may be one of the steals (pardon the pun) of the draft at the moment, with an ADP of 80 -- which would be in the middle of the sixth round in 12-team leagues -- thanks to his ability to steal, hit for a little power, and play both second base and outfield. If you need someone who can fill up the steals category, Merrifield is an excellent selection in the sixth or seventh round.
